I actually got up at 9:20 this morning! I ate a small breakfast, then I went outside to practice. As for the saxophone composition, I've decided on writing for alto saxophone and piano. I'm not sure on a title yet; that usually comes later. I think, however, that I would like to experiment this time, with fourths.
Well I noticed that I'm still lacking in the woodwind area, so I'm thinking that I want to write something for saxophone and piano. Or maybe saxophone quartet.
Wow! It certainly has been a rather productive year so far. I've written 5 new pieces, gotten four pieces published, I was accepted into all of the universities that I applied for, and I've gotten to perform a bit too. I'm going to the University of Kentucky this coming fall to pursue a masters in composition, so I'm trying to write as much music as I can before I get there. I also need to apply for composition/music grants. Life certainly is good, and I'm trying to make the most of it!
