Hello all! Well, after a rather large mess earlier this year, I put the concert band piece on hold. Instead, I finished a new piano piece, and I am about to wrap up another. I'm not sure what I shall do after this one...so many options!

Hello, all! I finished working on the piece for strings and piano on the 1st of the new year. The piece is "Perseverance," dedicated to my girlfriend, Noel. Anyway, I'm ready to cook up another concert band piece, this one for 8th grade concert band!
It is true that I've written a piece for strings already, but I think of that one as more of a "practice run." I'm going to try to push the ensemble more this time. It'll be a piece for string quartet and piano, dedicated to my girlfriend, Noel Zeigler.
I've decided to write my next work for another woodwind ensemble since I haven't written many works for woodwinds. This one will be for clarinet choir. ALSO, most of my music has been "fun" music. My girlfriend suggested that I work on my pretty/emotional side. So I'm going to work on that too. It's going to be GORGEOUS!
Just the other day, I came up with an extended list of all the pieces/songs that I would like to write. I've decided on writing a piece for 7th grade concert band (grade 1 - 1.5). Should be a rather easy piece to put together. Mabye TOO easy....we'll see how this goes.
Done with "A Mother's Love!" I just finished it last night. Now...what to write next? I'm not sure yet. There are some composition contests that I need to look through. That might determine what I write next.
Well, the trombone piece is still in progress. I didn't start on it until mid-July. It's coming along, though. I just been so busy with other things, especially with preparing to go to graduate school. I must finish this piece before I leave! And while I'm in Kentucky, I would really like to complete another piece between my TA training and the 1st day of classes. I'm not sure what I want to write yet...so many choices.
I finished my saxophone piece this past Sunday, 6/26/2011. I will have the sample posted soon My next project - I have the desire to write another trombone piece. This time, it'll be for an eight piece trombone ensemble, but the piece will be so that a high school ensemble should be able to perform it. The cool thing is, I can record the piece all by myself! Anything that involves trombone, piano, or the male voice...I can record the music myself! BAHAHAHA!!! Ah, the life of a composer.
I actually got up at 9:20 this morning! I ate a small breakfast, then I went outside to practice. As for the saxophone composition, I've decided on writing for alto saxophone and piano. I'm not sure on a title yet; that usually comes later. I think, however, that I would like to experiment this time, with fourths.
Well I noticed that I'm still lacking in the woodwind area, so I'm thinking that I want to write something for saxophone and piano. Or maybe saxophone quartet.
